Twelve Lloyd C.I aircraft, plus a prototype, were contracted in July 1914 as Series 41. While they were scheduled to be delivered in autumn 1914, a lack of skilled workmen and airplane-building expertise resulted in delays and much lower output, and the last C.I was not accepted until August 1915. They served with five Fliks and gave good if unremarkable service even at higher altitude. In February 1916 they were retired to training duties. [1]
