Designed for ground attack and close support, the Farman F.43 was a derivative of the Farman F.40 with an armored cockpit, wider wings, and a larger engine to support the increased loading. It was found to be too slow and vulnerable to enemy fighters, so after a short career it was retired to training duties. [1]
